A closer look

Inside the experience.

Twelve objects are about to be sold. The curator is missing. Her last instruction asks you to find what the catalogue left out.

The Thirteenth Lot is a cooperative museum mystery for 2–4 adults. Your table becomes the investigation: printed catalogues, permits and conservation records combine with a paper city chart and an offline digital casefile.

What you actually do

  • Compare evidence across catalogues, permits, photographs and conservation records.
  • Build the chart from four printed pieces using borders and contact rings.
  • Turn three selectors on that same chart as the case changes what you need to read from it.
  • Reach a shared conclusion and deliberately confirm your final action.

The investigation runs through seven connected stages. Some are quick evidence decisions; the deeper work is in combining records and physically reusing the chart.

What is included

Complete English case, version 1.0.1: an 11-page A4 player PDF and equivalent 11-page US Letter PDF, the complete offline investigation, quick-start instructions, three levels of hints, full answers, and save export/restore.

Digital download only. No physical objects are shipped.

Set the table

For 2–4 adults at one table. Bring one desktop or laptop with Chrome, a printer, 11 sheets in one paper size, scissors and a pencil; tape is optional. Print single-sided at 100% / Actual Size. Cut four large squares and three small squares when instructed.

Start, save and replay

Extract the complete ZIP, read QUICK-START.txt, then open START-HERE.html. No host needs to know the answers in advance and there are no secret roles. Export a save before closing if local storage is uncertain.

The case and solution are fixed. Replay is about revisiting the same investigation, not receiving a new case.

Good to know

Private home play, personal backups and reprints for one table are included. Redistribution and commercial group use are not.
